Rotator Cuff Injuries
About
This course focuses on the assessment, treatment, and self-care of the shoulder region, specifically the glenohumeral joint and rotator cuff musculature. These protocols aim to reduce pain severity and minimize the impact on athletic training and performance. Shoulder issues can affect anyone, and these protocols may also assist with daily activities. Therapists will review the basic anatomy and function of the glenohumeral joint and rotator cuff muscles. This foundation will help identify probable causes and contributing factors related to rotator cuff and shoulder dysfunction, such as postural misalignment, muscle imbalance, trigger points, and myofascial restrictions. Basic orthopedic assessments will help isolate and determine the location and type of dysfunction. Techniques covered will include myofascial release, trigger point release, cross-fiber friction, and muscle energy or proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation techniques.
