About

August 15, Friday, 9am–6pm This course focuses on Iliotibial Band Syndrome, a common hip and knee disorder associated with athletic injuries. The emphasis will be on integrating effective soft tissue techniques to dramatically reduce the severity of symptoms and minimize the impact this condition has on training, athletic performance, participation, and daily activities. Therapists will learn basic orthopedic assessments to help isolate and determine dysfunctions related to hip and knee issues. Posture assessments will identify possible contributing factors such as structural misalignment, trigger points, and myofascial restrictions. Findings from these assessments will guide therapists in selecting the most effective treatment techniques and protocols to reduce pain and restore optimal function. Techniques covered in this course will include myofascial release, soft tissue manipulation, trigger point therapy, cross-fiber friction, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation.
